Food
We try to make use of the wonderful local food at The Mill wherever possible, both because it tastes good and because we are trying to live in a sustainable manner with concern for our environment. We grow our own organic vegetables and fruit, and use them wherever we can. If you are interested in buying local food after you have tasted how good it is, we can signpost you to some excellent food producers.
The Mill is directly opposite the local pub, the Lloyney Inn, which offers food on every evening except Mondays. There is also a really good restaurant approximately one mile away, the Waterdine, in the village of Llanfair Waterdine, plus numerous other excellent eating places. For this reason, we only offer evening meals on Mondays unless there are exceptional reasons for your needing to eat with us in the evening. If this is the case, please let us know in advance of your arrival.

Breakfast
The most important meal of the day, especially if you have a full day of walking in front of you. Our breakfast menu is likely to include some or all of the following, depending on the season.
Fruit juices, including Tickmore apple juices: see Tickmore's for more information.
Fruit platter or fruit compote, or prunes in Earl Grey tea.
Fresh natural yoghurt from Welsh suppliers, served with local honey
Cereals, which will include at least one flake variety, wholewheat muesli with seeds, and porridge in the winter months
Cooked breakfast, to include some or all of the following: local bacon and eggs, local sausage, local black pudding, tomatoes, mushrooms, or kippers. See Tudge Meats and Walls Butchers for more information
Bread or Toast, all home-made, plus muffins and other specialities from time to time.
Selection of jams and other spreads, many home-made or provided by Mary of  Little Cefn Smokehouse for more information.

Packed lunches
Many of our visitors are walking or cycling, and a packed lunch can be provided at a cost of £4, on request the night before you need it. Lunches will always include sandwiches, rolls or wraps, crisps (vegetable if requested in advance), fruit, cake and a small drink.

Drinks
Our rooms are small and it is not easy to make tea and coffee available in each room. For this reason, you may make your own in the kitchen whenever you wish, and enjoy our home-made cake and biscuits at no extra charge.

Clothes and boots
If you are on a walking or cycling holiday, you may need to clean up and dry your boots and clothing. We can help with this, and even run a wash through the washing machine if necessary.

Travel
There is a railway station 1 mile from The Mill at Knucklas (next to a very important Victorian viaduct!), and we are happy to collect you from the station if you are travelling by public transport, and take you there on your return. There is a local bus service from Knighton, which will link to services to and from Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Hereford and beyond if required. See our travel and environmental statements for further details.

Bicycles
Bicycle storage is available, and is secured. We can collect your luggage from the station and leave you to cycle the mile or so to the Mill if you wish. We also have a mountain bike which may occasionally be available for use at your own risk.

WiFi
WiFi is available free of charge to our visitors.

Studio Space
We have a large, well-lit studio in the garden which is available to visitors. The studio is situated at first floor level, and is reached via ten external steps. It has running water, a hotplate, microwave and kettle plus three tables and chairs. Use of a small etching press may be arranged if required. The studio is currently unheated, and so unsuitable for Winter and early Spring use unless you are prepared to wrap up warmly. We offer special group rates for four or more visitors using the studio over a week-end or longer. Please ask for current prices and advise us in advance if you would like to take advantage of this facility.
